Warne’s ‘Tornado’ - Kamran Khan to play for Pune in IPL 4

Shane Warne’s discovery in the Indian Premier League, fast bowler Kamran Khan, will play for the Sahara Pune Warriors in the fourth season of the cash—rich Twenty20 league.
“I have signed the contract with Pune. I will miss Shane (Warne) but I guess a new team will provide me the opportunity to play more matches,” Khan told ‘PTI Bhasha’ from Mumbai.
Having impressed Darren Berry, the Rajasthan Royals director of coaching, in a suburban Twenty20 tournament, Khan was given a contract worth about USD 24,000 with Rajasthan for the second season of the IPL. Captain and Coach Warne called him a ‘Tornado’ and used him as a front—line bowler.
Khan, in fact, made his Twenty20 debut before having played a first—class match. Khan too acknowledges the contribution of Warne in building up his career.
“I will not forget what Shane has done for me. Whatever I am today is because of him. He is a tremendous captain and a good human being,” he said.
Khan could play only three matches in the IPL third season due to his knee injury.
“I am fit now and raring to perform. I have several new weapons in my armoury. I could not play much matches in last season but this time I will prove my mettle for sure,” said the 20—year—old son of a woodcutter from Azamgarh, UP.
Khan said he is excited about playing alongside Yuvraj Singh whom he admire a lot.
“I met him many times during IPL but now I am playing with him. I am really excited about this opportunity,” he said.
